The highest GMAT score is 800, which can be achieved by candidates with remarkable talent and GMAT study. It is estimated that just 30 candidates out of 200,000 worldwide may achieve the highest GMAT score of 800 in a given year. Although this is a rare occurrence, it is feasible.

GMAT Score Range 2021

Because the GMAT is an adaptive test, the total score changes depending on the difficulty. For calculating different sections, the GMAT score calculator uses two main factors:

• The difficulty level of the questions with right answers

• The number of correct answers

The total GMAT score is derived using verbal and quantitative capabilities, as well as the GMAT AWA and IR scores.

• The GMAT quantitative score range is 0-60 with 1 point increment

• The GMAT verbal score range is 0-60 with 1 point increment

• The GMAT max score for Quant and Verbal is 60, which is later converted into a scaled score

• The GMAT integrated reasoning score range is 1-8 with 1 point increment

• The GMAT analytical writing score range is 0-6 with 0.5 point increment

Given the GMAT score range, the greatest possible GMAT score is 800, while the lowest possible GMAT score is 200. It's worth noting that the GMAT total score is also 800, and the GMAT increment points are 10. This range applies to both the verbal and math portions of the GMAT.

Is 550 GMAT easy to score?

The GMAT is a demanding exam, and getting a respectable GMAT score without preparation is nearly impossible. In terms of difficulty, a score of 550 is extremely difficult to get because the GMAT questions are quite demanding. However, 550 or any score below 550 is a poor GMAT score, and a high GMAT score of 650 will be the minimum criterion for admission to good B-schools or universities. However, this is not a simple task.
